from the appropriately named horrorwood. don't sleep on this one folks, the picture doesn't do it justice. there's a ton of gory detail inside the truck as this design honors some cult classics.

paper APE & the little freak circus

the next design from vin's paper APE comes to us via scott charron [little paper life]...

another great interpretation and i love what scott did with the cage and beast. i find it very cool to see what happens when a blank template and carte blanche are extended to a group of passionate people. this is a wonderful example of that magic.

the next up from vinsart's paper APE series...

comes to us via zerolabor. really dig when a toy gets a little bit of structural re-engineering as is the case with zero's ape shuttle. this is proving to be one great set of customs.

paper APE - custom from thunder panda

when i was asked to participate in the paper APE series for 2011, i had no idea what the artist roster would look like.

had i known thunder panda would be involved, i would have imagined something far different than what we got. not saying good/bad, or what-have-you, just that this seems like a departure from what we've seen from this wonderful paper artist.

that being said, this reminds me of a beck song. and i mean that as a compliment.

new APE paper customs

the new series of custom designs for the APE paper toy from vinsart have come online...

this is a cool toy based on the three wheeled utility cart ever present in the tiny streets of italy. in the past, vin has re-interpreted or re-imagined some of the ways in which this vehicle could be used, cigarette smuggler, sushi chef, guerrilla insurgents....

but now he's let others in on the fun. the new batch of designs are from salazad, saloquin, thunderpanda, zerolabor, scott charron, horrorwood, giulia mag, marko zubak, abz, and yours truly.

it's an honor to mentioned in the same breath as some of the heavy hitters in paper and the designs are stunning. vin will be releasing them one at a time, so keep checking back HERE
