who wants a horrorwood taco?

i know, right? any day over taco bell...

this is a custom courtesy Horrorwood for the taco truck series by Idham Mahardhika. while not exactly the most engaging of paper forms, to underestimate the simplistic taco truck would be a big mistake. the form allows the designer a great canvas upon which to lay down some very cool imagery. new APE paper customs

the new series of custom designs for the APE paper toy from vinsart have come online...

this is a cool toy based on the three wheeled utility cart ever present in the tiny streets of italy. in the past, vin has re-interpreted or re-imagined some of the ways in which this vehicle could be used, cigarette smuggler, sushi chef, guerrilla insurgents....

but now he's let others in on the fun. the new batch of designs are from salazad, saloquin, thunderpanda, zerolabor, scott charron, horrorwood, giulia mag, marko zubak, abz, and yours truly.

it's an honor to mentioned in the same breath as some of the heavy hitters in paper and the designs are stunning. vin will be releasing them one at a time, so keep checking back HERE

... you should definitely visit the pink hobo geek art gallery for the exhibition that'll be running from june 11 through july 29. paper works will be showcased by a variety of artists, including abz, marko zubak, matthew hawkins, and salazad.

new work from salazad!

wow. stunning. hot damn. sweet lord when do i get my hands on these...

just a few of the thoughts that passed through my skull when i saw the NEW WORK from salazad. these really jump out as amazing, regardless of the current state of paper. these could have been released at the zenith of paper toy's run as a art medium [future / past?] and helped to define the era. considering the dreck i've been seeing lately, these pop even more, and hopefully signal a return to incredible work as a rule and not the exception.

for now, we'll have to be content knowing that these are out there, and eventually will be released. sal promises that once the show these are a part of runs its course, he'll do what he can to get them into our hands. i feel confident in speaking for paper enthusiasts everywhere that it can't happen soon enough. thank you sal!

this is salazad's spin on the classic nani? bird. these two paper forces have a special place in my heart as my first custom was a nani? bird, and salazad's custom was the first for my leechoso series.
